I have been working on the distribution label for the past 2 weeks, I'm still working on a green flare which should appear around Earth which would continously move like a glow.

today we looked at different trailers focusing mainly on inspiration for the soundtrack for our trailer as well as planning for filming later today.

we looked at these trailers

with the Pretty In Pink trailer; because of its lack of music variation, cutting between dilogue and then one track only.We felt as though this did'nt fit in with our trailer as iits dialogue lead and although we feature dialoge we don't wish to use it so frequently as Pretty In Pink. As well as this, although the romantic element is something shared between our trailer and Pretty In Pink, we fell as though perhaps we could use a bigger number of tracks for our trailer.

we took different shots of raquel for our poster however thought about reconsidering the characters costume as the scarf becomes a little disrtacting or trying to blend it into the background we need to discuss it further

Chracter Photos- Posters

Today we organised a photoshoot with our characters.The characters they would be playing are the male character and love intrest Daniel and his girlfriend Jade. although we still need to continue the photoshoot tommorow we considered some of the following shots

Today we needed to finalise our storyboard and poster ideas, so i finsihed drawing up the storyboard, whilst saddef took location shots. Pahi had split up our treatment into 18 parts and writen up what shots we needed, i drew the shots for the storyboard whilst sadeff sorted out the cast members and the poster plans

Title Ideas

Today we brainstormed some title ideas for our
promtional package.

we couldnt think of anything so we flicked through a copy of Empire magazine and then after seeing the name tamara drew thought about using our charcters name

New storyboards

So we have officially started our storyboard for our tweaked story which is a chick flick but with a dark side, similar to the movie Cruel Intentions.
We thought it would be a good idea to tweak our original storyline as the idea we came up with was a tad cliche, the idea of the story having a dark twist to it made the story seem far more appealing than the previous idea. As a group we all thought that when movies have certain twists to them, audiences would tend to be kept on guard thoughout the movie, as well as enjoy the small surprises that are shown. Whilst thinking of a better idea we all considered whether we would go and watch the movie ourselves if we came across a promotional package of a similar type of story, we also used our audience research and realised that it would be better if the story had a dark twist other than a standard chick flick movie.
Further evidence of the storyboards will be posted shortly.

Selling Point

Teen Film -Romantic Storyline
We started considering our film's selling point; and thought that it would be the main characters subversion of innocents as well as the romantic element therefore the storyline would be its biggest selling point. Also it's generic for a teen drama to contain romance



Relese Date

Relese date will be in summer to target a teen audience

Cast
Majority of the cast being a female cast, means that the audience are able to relate to the characters more as well as being a teen film that perhaps a young audience would go to see with their friends


To help us visualise the selling point Saddef drew up some posters for our promotional package where we decided to use the idea of a powerful female and a male love interest teen to attract a teen audience in our rough draft. 

a good example of showing both a male love intrest and a powerful female is the film 10 things i hate about you, however we chose to not include a comidic elements.

Shot 1. Chloe standing in from of the mirror crying, after breakdown she take out the picture of Daniel, tears it up and throws it on the floor. Wipes her face with vengeance, and leaves the toilet with confidence gets back with her group of friends normally.

Shot 2. Chloe tries to get Daniel’s attention but fails with jade interrupting by asking about when they will finish the assignment together. Daniel shows shock on his face and completely ignores Chloe and they walk away together.  Chloe takes it the wrong way.

Shot 3. Chloe agitated in toilets/ behind the gym block (?), ranting to her mother, shot of Daniel and Jade’s timetable of their daily activities at school.

Shot 4. Chloe talking to Jade about the chances of Daniel cheating on her, vice versa with Daniel.

Shot 5. Couple angry with each other, quick shot of them hugging…Chloe gets frustrated.

Shot 6. Montage of Chloe sabotaging Jade and Daniels plans to be together, example; stealing mobile phone.

Last shot. Chloe standing in front of the mirror with a smirk and a bitchy look.

Genre progress

although we had firstly thought of doing a more chick-flick type of drama. we however then thought about different sub-genres

Crime-drama- as we had previously looked at films such as spring breakers and basic instinct and L.A. Confidential

 


Film noir- because we thought about the school setting ,the winter darkness and felt that we would be able to use these qualities to our advantage -e.g using the corridors and landscape of the school and making your trailer black and white to make the contrast even higher

Neo-noir- we felt that this could show a more modern edge to film noir and making it a little easier to film . similar to kill bill, brick and sin city


however we thought about the difficulty in making the lighting so precise therefore we stuck to our original story-board but made it have a dark edge by making out lead female character a femme fetale type character obssessed with revenge

So after we had a brief idea of how our trailer might look, and the kind of content it would consist of, we started to visualise these ideas...

So here is how far we have got so far wit your storyboarding ..

we have not yet decided on what our title and production logos will be and where we will insert them in  our trailer.. however, once decided we will add them in.
